The Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) is a professional Twenty20 cricket league contested in the state of Tamil Nadu in India and was founded in 2016 by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association. It is played during July and August of every year by eight teams representing eight districts in Tamil Nadu. The league has helped a lot of young players rise through the ranks and has given them the right exposure. Chepauk Super Gilles is the most successful team in the history of the TNPL as they have won the title on four occasions. The inaugural edition of the tournament was won by Tuti Patriots, now known as Salem Spartans. Meanwhile, in the recent season of TNPL 2022, the trophy was shared between Chepauk Super Gillies and Lyca Kovai Kings as the rain had played a killjoy. Narayan Jagadeesan is the highest run-getter of the tournament with 1240 runs while R Sai Kishore is the leading wicket-taker of the competition with 85 scalps.
